udee is an independent online magazine that showcases and celebrates the lives, works, legacies and stories of socially conscious female and non-binary creators.
Derived from the word underdog, which is traditionally defined as the team expected to lose, we are passionate about calling out toxic, patriarchal messaging within late capitalist contexts and the media, as well as condemning faux, individualist and commercialised ‘feminism’.
We are also avid sifters of the best content and conversations already taking place in and outside the online realm, which we share and discuss via our facebook community.
A tribute to the women in the arts, our (often unconventional) families, our literature, our history, and our memories, udee is an inclusive space that harnesses the essence of unified sisterhood and kinship.
Based in Melbourne - Australia, on what is and always will be Aboriginal land, we acknowledge the significant privilege of living and operating on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We'd also like to pay our respect to elders - past, present and emerging.
